I went to my first local book club last night. In real life. Read all 400 pages worth and was so proud of myself! It was magical. It was such a new feeling of community. We all had a shared purpose to be there and that felt light and free.
There is another book club here that has been going for 50 years. The women started it when they were in their 20s! They have read over 600 books and just had the town celebrate them ! They have shared a whole life together. 💜
Just gushing with a huge smile for you over here! I am so proud of you, Shannon! Book clubs are it for me! I read a 560ish pager for my first one here at the library and it was magic! I cannot even deal with that 50 year book club, wow!
I don’t have a list, per se, unless you count the ever growing lists I’ve created and add to on an almost daily basis on Amazon/Libby/Goodreads. Right now I’m finishing “Want Your Self” (@KatieHorwitz). The Creative Act has been on my radar!
I loved the throne of glass series! Books 2-3 weren’t my favorite but things really picked up for me after that.
Also am going to read the creative act soon and am working on the wild edge of sorrow, it’s really lovely.
“All about love” is my current obsession, bell hooks is a national treasure.

Same! They stopped allowing new members years ago. Otherwise I would have absolutely joined 😍
