Hello July
I rarely hear anyone ask July to be soft
With fireworks and summer sun
A grill and Bruce Springsteen songs.
But I want a gentle July, I whisper
One that wakes me early
with soft sunlight and crisp air
So I ask the sun
And I ask the air
Softer?
Crisper?
Sweeter?
July says, I am as you are.
Every month I check in - in my body, on my to-do lists, my habits, and my goals. I audit the last month in moments and learnings and celebrations and then I make requests of myself for the month ahead. Writing it down matters. I invite you to try out the practice, creating consistencies in our day and our months has been a necessity for me right now.
Here is my Audit & Ask for the past month of June to July:
AUDIT
Take a moment to close your eyes and see all that was June. Meetings, moments, people, health, work, commitments, failures, feelings, celebrations and all the learnings.
In one word, how was June? ___________________________
lachrymose.
What are two learnings you experienced from June?
- I learned that if you want to write poetry, you have to sit down and write it. It will be right there.
- I learned that I get to keep falling in love with people, a water source, a library - anyone and anything - it important for the soul and I/we must keep doing it. Again and again and again.
What are two celebrations you can share from June?
- All three of my children finished up the school years in Maine with huge strides in their growth, incredible friendships and a love of books and writing.
- I launched The Visions Sessions (a 6 weeks vision immersion, starts July 9, join in!) and I cannot wait to be in new programming inspired by my second e-book, Within Your Dreams.
